GDPro 2
The benefits of using GD Pro:
- The shareholder details are easier to find and maintain
- The search screen is fast and easy to use.
- Look up shareholders details in seconds. This means telephone enquiries can be handled
on the spot.
- Allows partial name, alias name and ID number searches. This means it is easier
to locate the details for a shareholder who is unsure of the name used.
- The details related to a shareholder are visible as soon as you select a name. One
click of the mouse lets you see the shareholder's:
- Contact and payment method details
- Shares held in each Trust
- Unpaid balance in each Trust
- Another click shows their financial or share transactions and balances.
- Only one copy of the name and address details for each shareholder regardless of
the number of trusts they belong to. This means that each shareholder can belong
to an unlimited number of trusts and you manage them all on the same screen. Thus
errors related to shareholders details are significantly reduced.
- A complete audit trail is provided for all financial and share transactions for
each shareholder
- See the financial transactions screen below.
- The successions are managed by the program
- The shares and funds transfers are performed on a single screen. The simple system
saves you time while performing the successions but it also makes it easier to track
what has been done at a later date.
- Use the same database for mail merges
- You can use Microsoft Word to print envelopes and form letters from the data in
GD Pro. This means that only one database needs to be maintained reducing errors
caused by duplication of data.
- Time and cost saving payment options are included
- A cheque writer report is included which prints details on pre-printed cheques.
- The cheque can be written for multiple trusts which saves you the administration
costs of multiple cheques.
- Use the BNZ direct debit payment system. You can pay the lowest possible transaction
rate by delivering a floppy disk of account numbers and amounts to a BNZ. A similar
facility exists for National Bank and WestpacTrust branch.
- Use a single screen to reconcile and cancel cheques
- Enter the statement number and date then you tick each cheque. The program does
the rest. This saves time and allows you to see the unpresented cheques at a glance.
- Rely on the security system to protect the data from unauthorised changes
- Each user is set up for one of four security levels.
- The lowest level is read only which means that less experienced users can read details
about shareholders but make no changes.
- Extensive selection of reports including the ability to create your own.
- Reports can be exported to Excel and Word
Sample screens
This screen view shows the results of a search for the name Rangi. It returns all
names that contain Rangi including those with Rangi in the alias.
As soon as the persons name is selected their details are displayed on the Shareholder
Information screen above.
Note the four trusts (NWTL, KAP, etc) selected for this shareholder.
Note also the
Succeed/Transfer button for managing successions.
A Share Transactions screen is also provided which shows the full history of all
share transactions in a similar format to the financial transactions.
The Financial Transactions screen is shown below.
Note the area at the bottom for journal entries.
Sites Using GD Pro
The program has been installed at more than 12 sites including:
- Hulton Patchell in Rotorua
- Balance Accountants in Wanganui + Taumarunui
- Bowker and Associates in Hamilton
- Puketapu in Taumarunui
- Manunui in Taumarunui

Database Technology
The program utilises the robust database system called SQL Server from Microsoft.
This enables powerful features such as transaction roll-back in the event that one
part of a process fails. For example, if during a succession or distribution process
one or more of the steps fails, the entire process will be reversed.
Conclusion
The GD Pro Shareholder Management programme has been developed to address the major
areas of concern to the administrators for trusts and incorporations.
It provides carefully designed screens so that the users do not need extensive training
in its use. Similarly those people who are infrequent users of the program will
have little trouble remembering how to use it while reaping the benefits of the
fast search capability and easy shareholder maintenance processes.
