Every Power Station is different. Although the paper logs used in power stations may be similar the rules around the management of the logs vary considerable. Also the other log requirements also change significantly from station to station.

PLS is designed so that it will fit the way the plant operators work and the terminology they use. The program is made to suit the way the operators work so that the operators don’t need to change they way they think and work to suit the program.

Purpose

The primary purpose of PLS is to assist the operators with the day-to-day log keeping activities that are required to run a power station. GeneLogs brings together the many fragmented paper based and electronic logs in one information management system.  The result is a system that provides easy data entry and reporting of business performance. PLS also assists in meeting compliance requirements.

• Timed and dated factual records of operational activities and events
• Standardised formats
• Automated abnormal equipment state entries via Plant Information (PI) Database and user confirmation
• Audit trail for post event incident analysis
• Through customised user interface each log remains in the control of the operator in charge of that area
• Keeps original log entries at the station while allowing reporting of the data as required from remote locations
• Identifies users of the log by their log in and/or password
• Enables, via client controlled administration facility, the use of standard operating terms and abbreviations that are consistent with industry standards
